The Legacy of the Long March Spirit :
A Visual Chronicle of Courage & Education
This exhibition, marking the Long March's 90th anniversary, presents dual perspectives through time: the 2004 documentation of rural education and life, and the 2023 focus on historical landmarks. These images show how the Long March spirit—from the Red Army's extraordinary journey to today's educational pursuits—continues to inspire progress.
Mr. Chow's journey mirrors this evolution. When he first retraced the Long March in 2004, it was also his first experience with a camera. His first trek as an amateur photographer produced uniquely authentic perspectives. His untrained eye capturing raw, unfiltered moments with remarkable authenticity. Two decades later, his return with professional expertise captured both historical traces and contemporary resonance. Each exhibited work reflects both his artistic growth and personal interpretation of the Long March spirit.
This exhibition features 280 selected photographs across six thematic sections. The collection combines rural education and life images captured along the Long March route in 2004, alongside documentary photographs of historic Long March sites revisited in 2024, showcasing the enduring spirit of the Long March in the modern era.
