Eddie Chow is a Hong Kong-based photographer whose journey into the art form began after a fulfilling career in finance. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Chow transitioned to photography upon retirement, embracing it as a meaningful way to document reality through his unique perspective.
Chow's creative works span a diverse range of subjects and techniques, reflecting his belief in photography's primary function: to capture and preserve the world as he sees it. His dedication to the craft led him to further his education, obtaining a Professional Diploma in Commercial Photography from OUHK in 2016 and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Photography from HKU Space in 2019. In 2021, Chow marked a significant milestone by launching his first photobook, "Impression Hong Kong," at the Hong Kong Book Fair. His exhibition portfolio includes notable solo shows such as "The Legacy of the Long March Spirit: A Visual Chronicle of Courage and Education" at Hong Kong Central Library in 2024, featuring 280 pieces of artwork documenting the historic path; "Long March for Education: A 15-Year Retrospective" at the Tsi Ya Chai Gallery in 2019; and "Impression Cuba" at I-D Art Hong Kong.
Through his lens, Eddie Chow continues to explore and document the intricacies of life, culture, and landscapes, contributing to Hong Kong's vibrant photography scene.
